Paul De Weerdt
Carpenter based in Malmö, creating custom furniture and built-in interiors with care.
How it started
My journey into carpentry began in 2016. What started as a single woodworking project quickly grew into a deeper interest in materials, construction, and the satisfaction of building something tangible by hand.
I spent years experimenting, learning, and refining my approach — working on everything from furniture and interiors to more technical, custom-built pieces. Over time, this hands-on process shaped how I work today: carefully, thoughtfully, and with respect for the material.
Experience & perspective
Before working full-time with carpentry, I studied real estate and spent years in environments focused on planning, structure, and long-term value. While I ultimately chose a different path, that background still shapes how I approach projects today.
Understanding space, function, and how people live in their homes helps me design solutions that are not only well-built, but also practical and thoughtful in the long run.
How I work
I work closely with homeowners and interior designers throughout the entire process — from early ideas to final installation. Some projects start with clear plans, others with rough sketches or ideas. Either way, the goal is the same: to create something that fits the space, the use, and the people who will live with it.
I value clear communication, realistic expectations, and taking the time needed to do things properly. Quality work takes planning — and that’s where good results begin.
Mindset and materials
I choose materials carefully and never cut corners on quality. Solid wood, durable finishes, and proven construction methods are central to my work. I’d rather spend more time and effort upfront than compromise on the result.
Good craftsmanship isn’t about perfection for its own sake — it’s about building something that holds up over time, both structurally and visually.

What I work on today
Today, my work focuses on custom furniture, built-in carpentry, and selected projects where technology is integrated into woodwork. While some projects are more complex than others, the foundation remains the same: careful design, solid materials, and craftsmanship that lasts.
