From idea to installation: How a project takes shape

February 5, 2026

Most projects don’t start with finished drawings. They start with a conversation.

Sometimes a client has clear plans and measurements. Other times, it’s a rough idea, a reference image, or simply a problem that needs solving. My role early on is to ask the right questions: how the space is used, what needs to be stored, what should feel open, and what should stay hidden.

From there, ideas are shaped into practical solutions. We talk through proportions, materials, and details before anything is built. This stage is where potential problems are solved early — not during installation.

Throughout the process, communication stays open. Clients are involved in decisions, and expectations are set clearly. That way, there are no surprises when the piece is finished.

By the time installation happens, everything has already been thought through. The result is a smooth build, a clean fit, and a finished piece that feels intentional — not improvised.
